Low disk space alert in RightFax 9.0 EFM

I am into an habit of documenting all the issues and its resolution long before I started this blog. Hence posting everything that is in my database and could help. Captaris RightFax, this post also reminded me to share with you that my consultancy career started with this software, it is a great software in E FAXING race and I have not found any other E-FAX software who can offer better or atleast the same options like RightFax, from active directory integration to exchange inbound delivery. Now lets go back to the topic…

In RightFax Enterprise 9.0 When you open the EFM (enterprise fax manager) you will see alert of low disk space. How to get rid of it as a pro active step? and infact which drive on the server is actually running out of disk space?

When I encountored this error for the first time I had to contact the Captaris RightFax support in US, as you would have easily guessed till now. You need to you simply free up some disk space on the drive where the RightFax Enterprise server is installed. Well, this is not the catch here.

If you are using SQL as your database for RightFax then you need to be aware that RightFax Enterprise 9.0 server does not store the fax images in the SQL infact it just stored the configuration, like user accounts, links to fax images, dailing rules, signature etc int he SQL.

However, the images are still stored in the \Programe file\RightFax\Images folder. If for any reason you have stored the images folder on a different drive the the RightFax installation drive you need to free up that drive as well.

Also, you can simply srink the RightFax Server Database and logs files in SQL which will inturn free up space for you.

Here is the summary

  • Free disk space on the RightFax installation directory
  • Free disk space on the \Programfiles\RightFax\Images\ folder if located in any other drive
  • Srink SQL database and logs files if at all it is located in the any of the above drives.
