Citrix released its all new Xen Server beta edition as Project orlando.This release delivers many new features and enhancements, in the areas of
- XenConvert, a new component of XenCenter offering physical-to-virtual conversion from Windows systems to XenServer.(Atlast)
- New guest operating systems, including:
- Windows Server 2008 (with initial enlightenment optimizations)
- Windows XP SP3
- Windows Vista SP1
- SUSE Enterprise Linux 9 SP4 (32-bit) and version 10 SP1 and SP2 (64-bit)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 (32-bit) and 5.2 (32-bit and 64-bit)

And the next version of Microsoft Hyper-V Server (the one after 2008) will have live migration capabilities.System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 will be released within 30 days [not a surprise], which will manage Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V, Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2,Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 or VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3.

HOW TO Virtualize Citrix Access Gateway
Surprised? Even i was when i saw the article on frameworkx about virtualizing access gateway.It can be done on VMware 5.x and off course recommended only for testing environments.The Citrix Access Gateway is one of those appliances that is based off on operating system, and is built on a generic hardware appliance, a standard OEM computer. The fact that it is based on standard OEM computer hardware allows us the opportunity to utilize virtualization as an option to install the Citrix Access Gateway onto a virtual machine.
