It may sound very difficult and for which you may not find the solution commonly on the net, so I thought of sharing this information with you.

My 1Y1-A05 Implementing Citrix XenApp beta exam experience

Today i took 1Y1-A05 Implementing Citrix XenApp for Windows Server 2008 beta exam. it was a great learning experience for me as the exam had 179 questions and four hours time (As i got thirty minutes time extension as a  non-native English speaker).

So here i will give you a quick summary on the exam.Before attempting the exam make sure you have a deep knowledge on citrix services like IMA,XTE,XML, A lot of questions were based on policies specifically Printing,Streaming,Policy Prioritization,Make sure that you know the new terminologies ,the new names for management console,clients like Program Neighborhood Agent client is now XenApp plugin,Presentation Server client is now XenApp plugin for Hosted Apps,Presentation Server Web client XenApp is now Web plugin,Application Streaming client is now XenApp plugin for Streamed Apps & Presentation Server Console is now XenApp Advanced Configuration.You need some basic knowledge on telnet and netstat.Know the Service ports very well as  some of them are

ICA port is TCP: 1494
IMA port is TCP: 2512
CMC port is TCP: 2513
SSL port is TCP: 443
STA (IIS) port is TCP: 80
TCP Browsing port is UDP: 1604
XML (Default)port is TCP: 80
Citrix License Management Console port is TCP: 8082
Presentation Server Licensing port is TCP: 27000
ICA session w/ Session Reliability enabled port is TCP: 2598

Since this exam is still in Beta scores will be distributed when the beta period is complete, the test results are analyzed, and a passing score is established and prometric will send you the score via email.
